I ended up going back to the LTS and it works great once again, but the only problem is you cannot have conky,
as show_desktop has to be enabled so I don't use the wallpaper plugin.
But, that is a good question on Maverick.
I meant. Is it not a comparison of these OSs?Lucid Lynx 64 bit / Win 7 64 bit
How can I use a signature in forums?
I guess I should note that in 10.10 32-bit, I have the wallpaper plugin working, but only for CompizStandalone and only if I don't have my external monitor attached on login. The trick was to set a 7-second delay after Compiz starts before any other startup application or service starts.Originally Posted by nush
It can be fixed while running, under Gnome or whatever else, by switching to a VT and back, and it'll go on working for the rest of the session, regardless of what you do.
I know I shouldn't use tildes for decoration, but they always make me feel at home~
Something cute for Ubuntu 11.04 (Unity desktop)?
Sublets and others seem to not work here.

hello allz just to add to what cgkades said on page 3 i think it was.
if for some resin you did what to install ccsm or any of the compiz stuff, you can still get emerald to auto star by doing the fallowing.there is a way to auto start emerald, and I'm surprised no one has posted about it yet. in the ccsm, you can click on "window decorations" and change the line from "/usr/bin/compiz-decorator" to "/usr/bin/emerald --replace"
go to system/preferences/startup applications
click add and enter the fallowing for
name : emerald
command : emerald --replace
comment : starts emerald
