ATI Radeon HD X2600 Pro AGP

I have a radeon HD X2600 Pro AGP, and I just recently got Hardy. I'm trying to get desktop effects to work.

First I tried the restricted drivers, and they worked, except that the computer froze a lot, and I had to force it to reboot to recover.

Then I tried EnvyNG, and it works a lot better, but for some reason it seems to have slowed down my USB by a lot, and it still crashes every now and then.

Does anyone have any experience with this card, or advice?
