    You need an Alias IP. Follow this tutorial:

    ok i followed this guide very closely. when i get to the map network drive part i get a error that says "The network path \\172.16.1.65\Shared could not be found". i don't know what to do. i kinda need this file sharing. im running windows xp service pack 2 with no Internet connection, and Ubuntu 9.10 with a wireless Internet connection. The two computers a connected together through a switch with Ethernet cable. Any help would be great

    make sure you unstall windows live assitant log in. I shared it throw samba and it kept asking me for password even though i set the password off in windows. uninstalling windows live assitant in windows should allow your ubuntu to share printer through windows.
