    Guardian interview with Shuttleworth

The Guardian (which is high profile in the UK) has a new interview with Mark Shuttleworth.

One of the interesting things mentioned is the impending announcement of a 'Netbook Remix' version of Ubuntu for all these cheap ultra-portables coming out recently.

I just got my EeePC and I was hoping there would be an official Ubuntu for it, and now I'm happy

It will be very interesting to see what we're able to do with companies like Dell, which are aimed at a wider audience.

Too bad Microsoft has already made their move to dominate that area.

I'm really happy with my eee, excellent build quality, incredibly portable.

If you don't want to wait for the official one, others have already got Ubuntu versons customised for the eee over at the eee user site.

Great news about an Ubuntu Netbook edition.

Since there are only a few netbooks (Asus Eee, HP Mini-Note, and a few others), there is no reason not to get hardware support perfect - simply by testing each one. Also, these netbooks are built to run Linux.

In fact, this is very close to convincing me to get a netbook myself, if it'll run Ubuntu well. I'll wait for the announcement early June to see how that goes, then decide.
