    it does, most BSD's come with KDE.
    But its possible to install gnome and such on BSD, building a interface on BSD is also similar to linux

    BSD can run all the GUIs you're familiar with like GNOME, KDE, etc.

    Yeh I think make works the same way over on BSD as it does here.
    I am not absolutely sure, as I am telling you all that I have heard...

    Probably XFCE to be honest, as it lightweight in comparison to KDE.

    I think I am leaning towards Debian. Just because I am familiar with it and it's easy of use. BSD is great don't get me wrong ... but it would be quicker with Debian. Should I go with Ubuntu or straigh up Debian or another distro of Debian?

    well if you need a gui then just use standard debian, it should do it.

    Looks like it come with KDE. Does anybody know if the commands in Ubuntu work for Debian? Like.....

    Yes, that will work. Ubuntu uses apt as its package manager too.

    yes, the commands to use apt are practically the same...
    but it doesnt use sudo.
    instead to use apt you have to type in su
    then the root password
    then the apt-get command

    I have ran a website server with Ubuntu. It is basically the same as Debian. It may be a little bit easier, but really it's all the same.
