    Question Terminal not working!!

I was using 8.10 based ultimate ubuntu 2.0 . yesterday i update it to 9.04. Now i have two kernels 2.6.28-11-generic & 2.6.27-7-generic. In both ways, my terminal is not working, saying that failed to execute child process. What do i do? guide me please..
    Thank you.

Have you tried to boot using a safe session? You can then try to fix the booting process.
