Hey there, im using ubuntu 8.04, on my laptop, some days now... I've been fighting against some errors since the beginning and now i found the souce of evil, but dont know how to kill the error After the grub menu and the output "Please Wait" the booting process hang for a long time (ca. 40-80s) so i searched the internet for some solutions, i turned off the splash and set the resolution to 1280x800 x256colors and then i found out that the DVD device was the problem, so i disconnected it and it works fine now The error msg from dmsg is sth. like "ata2: failed to recover some devices, retrying in 5 secs" Can anyone help me?
