Vaio Z21V9E/B. Running smooth on Ubuntu (better than preinstalled win 7, just lacks the dock station support).

As for browser chromium (due to multi thread). Once Firefox goes multi-thread, I'll stick with it.

I tend to go a little overboard when I build my computers.

Every two or three of years I either do a major upgrade of my current system or I build a completely new computer.
The only parts that I reused for this Computer was the Power Supply the Optical Drives and the Secondary Hard Drive.

At least I didn't go completely upgrade crazy and buy a i7-Extreme Edition CPU for over $1000.00.
Not that I could afford to get it anyways.

Good thing you didn't. The Extreme chips are still based on Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) and the newer i7-3770 chips are based on Ivy Bridge (3rd gen) which are 700 bucks cheaper and a touch faster..
