Re: What are your system specs

    My main computer:
    Pentium M 745
    1Gb ram
    80 Gb hdd
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128 mb
    15" display 1400x1050
    dvd-rw
internal memory card reader (4 types)
    Intel ipw2200 wireless b/g
    dual boot WinXP and Ubuntu

bought from CyberPower.inc --wouldn't buy from them again as I had to fight for 2 months over a defective wireless card. I even had to contact the better business bureau and file a complaint!

    My family's computer:
    HP a1020n desktop
    P4 520j
    1 Gb ram
    200 Gb hdd
    48x cdrom
    dvd-rw
    17" Westinghouse LCD
onboard video that is adequate for kids and stuff
    Intel HD audio onboard
    Ubuntu only!

bought it at Best Buy and glad I did. I originally bought an eMachines with an Athelon 64 that had a problem with random rebooting regardless of the OS installed. Returned it within the first 14 days after thinking all that time that I could fix it and failing. They asked me no questions, took it back and let me exchange it for the HP. Wow.

My old laptop that is now running Ubuntu and was my first linux install:
    Compaq Presario 1700T
    P3 733 mHz
    768 mB ram
    upgraded 100 Gb hdd
broken ethernet port, one of these days I'm going to try to get the cheap wireless g PCMCIA card I bought for temp use with the main laptop to work on this
    Ubuntu only
