Again thank you!!! It worked with HP Pavillion DV6700 and hal version of the driver, just had to add the ath_pci module to /etc/modules becuase ubuntu wasn't loading it at start up, after that everything worked just great!! Even the blue light is working!!

Thanks a heaps for the script. Wow the wireless works better than it ever has done before. I've got a Macbook pro and an 3G connection. It's so sweet.

Re: Easy MadWifi (Atheros WLAN) installation script

Good news, the HAL has been opened up [LINK]

This hopefully means that eventually all the older cards will be supported by the ath5k driver (or similar).

So far the stock Madwifi in 8.10 are working fine, only needing a kick in the butt sometimes after suspend. I'll find out if it still crashes using EAP

Don't hold your breath. On my Acre Aspire 3680 with Intrepid it still doesn't work - I can't even make it. The MadWiFi forums have been no help, either.

Is there any way this can be used with Ubuntu live CD? I have a new Toshiba using the Atheros 5007 wireless card.

Re: Easy MadWifi (Atheros WLAN) installation script

    Hello,

    Thanks for the script.

    I am another case of

    [ 2697.539305] ath_pci: HAL doesn't support MAC revision 0xe2

You have commented that either we try to use another version of madwifi, or we try to use ath5 or ath9.

Regarding this last option, could somebody give us a quick guide of how to use ath5 or ath9? How do I install those drivers? How do I use them?

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Hipo
