Things that you dislike in Ubuntu

Tried installing 12.10 on a computer today and it wouldn't install grub. Ubuntu is getting to be simply too unstable and buggy, looks like I'm sticking with openSUSE.

Yeah, Xubuntu 12.10 doesn't work properly on my old laptop, either. It was back to 12.04 for that one, and now it's working great again. I guess I'll leave it at 12.04 until the next LTS release, but I'm not sure what I'll do after that!

4. The misdirection of compiz, which used to have a thriving development community and awesome features.

I can't recall anything awesome about compiz except that it used to cause awesome memory leaks with proprietary ATI drivers.

Oh yes, I'm not too fond of Shopping Lens either, I would never buy anything from Amazon.

Unity is a waste of money, is full of bugs, does not improve efficency and is an experimental project that consider its users like test subject.

Ubuntu does not have usable desktop apps for everyday use that really works. (No, libreoffice, f-spot, gimp, gnucash, Kmymoney are not usable apps, simplescan)

Each time I reinstall a new release, I wonder what will be broken this time and how more slow and unresponsive the UI will be.

I miss 9.04 but that's so 2009!

If you mean the icons in the unity launcher, that's easy to change...just go to "system settings" then to "appearance" just slide down the bar at the bottom to your favorite icon size...i always move mine down to about 38 pixels...
