Blank screen after booting

Hi

Last night I had installed ubuntu desktop 8.04 on my pc. All went good and I finally saw the ubuntu desktop. I was very happy..

Today I started my comp, ubuntu showed those status check OK blah blah ...and after that I see a totally blank screen, i waited for 25 mins in a hope that it will show me the login screen sometime but it didnt.


Any idea why am I seeing this blank screen??

Ctrl-Alt-F2 for a command prompt, log in, type dmesg | tail, and let us know the output.
