    Hardy+Svideo

Hello all. I always had my svideo cable working in gutsy. I am attempting to get it working in hardy and failing, miserably. I tried running nvidia-settings and setting it to output by twinview. The computer thinks it is sending an image to the tv and acts accordingly. There is no image sent to the tv. I was wondering if there was another way to set my svideo cable to work so that I can watch movies on my tv. Thanks

    Hope this helps...

I've never had an Nvidia card on any of my linux boxes, but that wiki article looks like it relates to your issue.

    Re: Hardy+Svideo

well, after this much time i am incredibly disappointed and still do not have svideo working. I installed the new nvidia drivers today (173) and they did not solve my issue. If i hit "detect displays" in nvidia-settings my display flashes on the tv for a split second. I still can not output to my tv through svideo and am frustrated. Am I the only idiot out there? Any help is appreciated!

    Re: Hardy+Svideo

Not sure that this is needed, but after you applied the changes in nvidia-settings, did you press "Save to X Configuration File" and restart the x server (ctrl+alt+backspace)? To be able to save the configuration you need to start nvidia-settings with "gksudo nvidia-settings".
The only way I can use s-video is if it's properly configured in xorg.conf and the xserver is started with the s-video cable connected.

    Re: Hardy+Svideo

I have tried that a few times. I configure twinview in nvidia-settings, save to xorg, and restart. When i restart the tv screen flickers a few times but no image comes on it. Could you perhaps post your xorg that you use for twinview?

I don't use twinview, so I cant help you with that, but I have a dual head setup.
    This is my xorg.conf:
    Code:
    # nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
    # nvidia-settings: version 1.0 (buildd@yellow) Thu Jun 5 09:27:12 UTC 2008
