    Thinking of Updating

I am considering updating to hardy, but am unsure because of reports of there being lots of bugs. Anyone have advice on whether I should keep my gutsy or upgrade to hardy?

    Hi,

It's your call, but I'd give it a few more weeks and then:
Search these forums for issues with your hardware and software mix.
Keep an eye on the fixes and workarounds thread (in General Help) and the experiences thread in the Installation and Upgrades section.

If by then it looks good to you go for it. Just do the smart thing and backup everything first, then you can roll back and wait a bit longer and try again.

    Re: Thinking of Updating

I am using a dual-boot laptop (both Linux) and their different partitions are closely intertwined with links and programs; thus I am hesitant to do any kind of major updates for fear of messing up something that took me this long to get right.

Also, I have a fairly dated laptop (Dell Latitude C840) and a video driver that gives me constant problems ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=700038 ), so I'm concerned that my hardware will not be supported.
