    Dual booting - Partitions

I need some help. I have Windows XP, I have two partitions. Windows is on the partition C: can I install Ubuntu on the other partition? In the documentation, the instruction is to install on the partition where Windows is. But on C: I don't have enough space. Many thanks!

Just to be sure: I have to choose "Manualy edit partition table" if I want to choose myself the partition where I want Ubuntu to be installed?
I need to format the partition with "ext3", is that right?

Thanks a million. Last question Do I need to do defragmentation in that case too? Or it's only for the case when I need to resize C: drive?

If you are going to resize windows down it wouldn't hurt to defrag, but I have never had a problem if I didn't defrag. I would also suggest backing up your important stuff, even though the chances of things going wrong are pretty low its always a good safety measure.
