I found an old Lego Studios webcam and was wondering if anyone's been able to get it working on Ubuntu?

I'm trying to get the Lego Studios webcam to work under Linux. It seems to be the same as the Lego Mindstorms vision command webcam / Logitech QuickCam Web.
There is a read-only thread on the forums about this webcam: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ht=lego+webcam
Despite the discussion in that thread, they never got the webcam to work.
Does anyone have any idea as to how to get this webcam working?

may be this might help
did you try cheese,,,
sudo apt-get install cheese
mine is not logitech webcam, but cheese identified the cam easily
thus is probably going to happen with cheapo/ no name brands, its no fault of linux.
Buy professional hardware with good linux track records, its like owning a mac in this respect.
HOME BUILT SYSTEM! http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/22804/ Please vote up!
remember kiddies: sudo rm -rf= BAD!, if someone tells you to do this, please ignore them unless YOU WANT YOUR SYSTEM WIPED
I always use Ekiga to test webcams, you can try different drivers like v4l and v4l2 and see if they can autodetect the cam before trying something more strenuous.
I know I'm bumping an old thread, but if anyone stumbles across this like I did, the cam works out of the box in Lucid.
