    How did you get the install DVD?
    It belongs to your own PC?
    If it doesn't,you may not be able to use the install DVD.

    Hi there!

    First some definitions:

    Linux -> Platform
    Debian, Ubuntu, etc -> Operative System
    Gnome, KDE -> Desktop Environments

    =)

    Now, Ubuntu cannot change your settings for the boot process.

    Try holding the keys a bit longer or a bit sooner.

    Also, make sure you are pressing the right keys

    Best regards!

    Many times Mac disks are specific for a certain machine. They will not work on another model. If you have the machine you should be the legal owner of the system that came with the machine. Thus it would be legal to look for a torrent of that system. It would probably not be legal to use a later system you have not paid for. Most of the torrents will boot on most macnines.
