Question Is it possible to make *.py files use a different icon?

I think it would be awesome to use this icon for all my *.py files.
I am going to do it by editing a theme but don't know how to make it
use a certain icon depending on the filename extension.Any help will
    be appreciated.

Just replace the mimetype in /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/mimetypes/gnome-mime-application-x-python-bytecode.svg or whatever icon theme you use.

    Try /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/mimetypes/gnome-mime-text-x-python.svg
This APT has Super Cow Powers.
