    Cant do a dist upgrade.

    Hi guys,
Ive got a Ubuntu system that fairly old now .

Its fully patched so the only thing on it left to upgrade is a dist upgrade.
    It says:

New dist 7.10 is available.. ( I know is not the latest )

Anyway, When trying to get it to update it errors :

    Could not downlod repo indexes:
    http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...6/Packages.gz: 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.46 80]

    Anyoen got any ideas?

It looks like 7.10 or whatever its looking for is no longer available @ that URL.

Any ideas would be great, I want to eventually update it to teh latest version. But im assuming the natural steps are to upgrade up slowly.

    Thanks
    G

To be honest dont upgrade, it always causes problems... I would do a clean install if I were you!
Why are you going to 7.10? 8.04 is fabulous once you have spent a couple hours fixing it to run smoothly on your system!!

Ahh HA! ive fixed it lol.

Seems that a 3rd party repo was the culprit.

The reason im going to 7.10 is because thats what its saying is available. Im assuming once upgraded it will then say the latest or close to.
