I get the following error using vmware 2.0 beta when I try and launch it using the command line vmware or sudo vmware

Failed to launch VMware Web Access: unable to find a graphical web browser.

I'm struggling to get this working.

I have followed the instruction but when I enter vmware into the console to start the web interface a new tab opens and the tab title just stays as Loading...

I have accepted the certificate but the page just wont load.

If I go to https://127.0.0.1/ui the page title just says loading
If I go to http://127.0.0.1/ui the page title says VMWare Infrastructure Web Access

Both of the pages are a kind of creamy white colour and blank.

I tried a new firefox profile just incase it was any of my extensions but still no joy.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

I've just made a fresh install of ubuntu 64 and updated all the packages before installing vmware server 1.0.6 (latest).
Them, I followed the instructions on this post and thus was able to successful install the vmware server.

My problem is I'm not able to access the internet in the guests nor even ping them.

    Any ideas?..

Hard to tell from the information you posted. There are several options here ...

On the host, are you using a wireless card ?

On the guest what type of options? Are you using NAT, Bridged, host only ?

Re: How to VMWare Server 1.0.6 and 2.0 RC1 in Ubuntu 8.04

So Which is better to use to have an Windows Exe running fine on Ubuntu?

    Wine(1.0.0.1)

    Win4Lin(3.5,5)

    VMware(1.06, 2.0)

Virtual Box (1.6.2) <I used this back when I used Windows Xp and I install Ubuntu 7.04 (Faisty Fawn) as a virtual OS) Now I think I will use it to install Winxp on Ubuntu 8.04 using Virtual Box, really easy tough>

    VirtualPC (unknown)

    Which one? Is better?

Which one is easiest to install?

    Which one is Ubuntu-Desktop Reliable?
(Opens there on the Ubuntu Desktop and not in a virtual Desktop)

So anyone would like to answer this?

Should be in your menu .... "VMWare Server Console"

If not, open a terminal and enter :

    Code:
    vmware
    post any error messages
