Ok I'm trying one last time to fix my DVD. I just upgraded to Hardy from a fresh Gutsy install. Problem that I have now is that I can burn CD's and DVD's but I can't read them. AVI movies that play fine won't play from DVD (even though I can see the files). So the cd/dvd mounts, but won't read.
It worked fine in Gutsy and works fine i WinXP. I was told that this might have to with my dvd player entries in /dev/ lists as "cdrom1, dvd1" and so on instead of "cdrom, dvd"....
When I try to play the disc in VLC I get these errors:
libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 0.1.10 from http://dvd.sf.net
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access

Anynoe got any ideas? And please don't tell me to get a new DVDRW please. The one I have is less than a year old and works fine!
Tnx!
