Install error and can I do an md5sum check on a burnt disc?

I downloaded 8.04 and checked the file but when I loaded the live cd I get an error on install. Just wondering if I can check if it's a disc error or a software error. Gutsy installed flawlessly so Hardy should still support all my hardware I would assume.

Here's what comes up when it tries to boot and it pops this up and returns to the login screen:

Setting IM through im-switch for locale=en_us.
Start IM through /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/all_ALL linked to /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/default.

/usr/bin/seahorse-agent: error while loading shared libraries: /lib/libpopt.so.0: cannot read file data: Input/output error.

I am not sure about that installation error but you could be on to something thinking it is the CD. The best way to test it if it will boot is to boot from it and select the media test option. It takes a little while but at least you will eliminate that as a potential problem source.
