    CPU in Hardy

I'm a little concerned about CPU usage in Hardy. It seems excessive compared to Gutsy. It may be that System Monitor is not entirely accurate.

I'd like to know if there is a command that will give me an alternate reading?

Are these readings which are pretty typical too high? Gutsy seemed to tick over nicely at 1% CPU.

I believe there is a bug with the system monitor that causes it (the actual system monitor app) to use a large amount of CPU. A lighter weight method to check the CPU load would be to use either top or htop in a terminal.

Yeah, I see what you mean, just installed htop and the readings are more realistic. Good tip that.

    Absolutely brilliant idea,
