Okay, so I've got Virtual Box up an running (and I love it!!), but the CD that I've got in the drive won't always read. I think it maybe a problem with the Laptop, but I'm more sure that it's a problem with the VM. Any ideas?

how do I get networking (internet) working in wxp guest on virtualbox? I put /dev/net/tut in the vboxusers group and chmod 755 permitted it but it still doesn't work.
*update* Nevermind I found the problem. I had the wrong device selected in the networking section.

Hello folks
Many thanks indeed to everyone who has contributed here. I've got XP on VirtualBox 1.6.2 working pretty well, with USB, network and all.
The last puzzle is folder sharing which, judging from this forum, seems to be working ok for most people. So far I've got the folder selected in the Settings but it doesn't show up in the guest's VirtualBox Shared Folders (as per the screenshots)
Can anyone help me out please?
Cheers
Roger

After having read dozens of forum posts, I can hard(l)y believe it, but I'm still too dumb to get USB working on my WinXP guest.
Using a fresh install of Hardy, I closely followed your tutorial together with a few other tips given in the follow up posts. Looks like this got me close to getting USB to work, but I'm not quite there, yet.
Here's my screenshot:
USB devices are recognized in the virtual machine, but they they don't show up in Windows (no USB memory stick in Win Explorer; USB printer not recognized).
Help would be greatly appreciated; this has already cost me a couple of nights ...
Thanks
