hey all, im having a problem trying to install the server version of ubuntu (latest release)
I had 2x HDD a 10gb and a 20gb, i know there small !
and i had ubuntu 7.10 desktop installed on the 10, to get used to command line etc =]
so i started the instillation of the server edition from boot, with both HDD, and the 20gb kept tickeing lould lol, and was makign verything run slow, its completly dead me thinks!
but the install completed (clean partition), and on bootup there was these everlasting errors that never stoped.. it was the 20gb HDD so i removed that.. no more ticking, and when the comp boots up it stays at
Verifying DMI Pool Data ..........
For like 3 mins, then;
BOOT from CD:
BOOT from CD:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
So many times i have done this with the install CD, and gone to recover
Things are faster smoother, and then i get stuck at a screen that says it couldnt find a disk drive, if i know the driver needed then select it from the list, iv tryed ost of the drivers that resemble any relevence to my weston digital 10gb, but nothing!
Also on a side note, my Ubuntu desktop woudlnt boot unless i had that other 20gb pluged in?!
So it could be something to do with that?
Although iv trailed my BIO's so many times and i cant find anything to mess that up!?
and iv checked all teh IDE connections and things seem fine!
please help!
