in the result of the scan it says "Error while scanning" "File was not tested due to configuration details"
may be its some sort of permission problem.

Sorry. No idea. I've never seen avast supplied directly by any linux distribution that I have used.

You should check to see if it has some type of logging. You might also want to check the support area of the Avast web site.
