    Live CD installation problems

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Hardy with the LiveCD but the installer never seems to lauch. The only indication is the task bar shows a "Starting Administra..." which I guess is sudo of some form. But it's only for a second, and then nothing occurs.

    I've already partitioned with gparted.

HAL seems to fail to init when the LiveCD environment starts, and I'm not sure if that is part of the problem or not.

I read in another thread it might be RAM shortages, but I have two gigs and less than a fourth of that is being used.

I was able to install from LiveCD on this rig before using 7.10, so I don't understand why it won't work with 8.04.

I need help asap, as I"m using the LiveCD right now to ask this question.

Burn a new CD. Do md5sum, burn at 4x, check CD integrity after burn and before install. Do not use CD-RW. Clean the lens in your burner. Failing that, try the Alternate CD.
