    lexmark wireless printer z1520

Hi all, I've set up a lexmark z1520 wireless printer all working under apple and windows. I cant get anything to print from ubuntu. The printer is located, but ubuntu requires a driver. I can't find the correct driver, i've tried a few others but nothing gets sent to the printer. Does anyone have a solution ?

That's a pretty new printer and Lexmark is slow to release Linux drivers. When they do release them they aren't very good.

My best suggestion is to download a z600 series driver, since it seems to be the most common. It's designed for Redhat so you will have to use a program called Alien to install it.

The Lexmark z1420 is called a paperweight in Linux so the outlook is not good.

I might try my hand at getting an old 486/586 running windows XP as a print server taking in .ps files and putting out the files to print, wouldn't be hard on Linux so we'll see...
