    VGA with xbox

I got a VGA AVI cable for xbox 360 and I wanted to connect it to my acer aspire 3680 VGA port on the side of my laptop hoping to display my xbox 360 on my monitor. However, the screen just blinks and nothing else. Is the VGA port capable of displaying this sort of stuff? Any ideas? Im not sure how to switch to the VGA output.

The VGA port on the side of your laptop is only for output of the video from your video card. To change the output from the laptop most laptops require that you se the alt and F4 key to switcht he display output. There's three modes available, your laptop LCD, the external display, and a dual isplay with your laptop LCD and the external display.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the VGA port on the laptop to display the xbox video output.
