    Problems.....Again

    I burned a copy of Ubuntu 8.04 RC amd64.
I did the md5sum-thing and I burned it onto a DVD at the slowest speed.

    I run right now Ubuntu 7.10 amd64.

The guide says when I pop the disc in, it should automatically start upgrading.
I even did Alt+F2, typed in gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade", and pressed Enter, but still nothing.

    Can someone help me?.....please?

Well, you could upgrade through synaptics pretty easily should you want to, but really, may I warn you that unless you enjoy experimental operating systems and sussing out bugs you should just wait a few more days?

I'm not a patient person, and someday, that's gonna do me harm...(LOL)...but back on subject:

    1. How do I do that? Install through Synaptic Package Manager?

    2. When I'm running Gutsy, the Update Manager will notify me of Hardy upgrade.
When I'm running Hardy RC, however, will it still tell me when the FV comes out?

i hope i'm understanding this thread correctly...
if you push alt+f2 and type:
    Code:
    gksu update-manager -d
it should give you the option to update to hardy without having to burn a disc.

Yeah, it should let you know when it's time to upgrade to the final.

    Here are some good instructions:

    Re: Problems.....Again

I tried doing that, but my Internet connection was so slow, it took me like 3 hours to download half the files, then it just crashed.

So guys, I need a way of installing from the disc.
Can you please answer my original question, and my second and third one from my second post in this topic?

    Thank you.
