    Yes, it's ok to ask questions about Kubuntu here .
    Click on the applications menu (or the K menu or whatever you have). Get your mouse cursor on the "System tools" and right click and select "Edit menu".
    The menu editor will show up.
    Click on "File" > "New item" and follow Artificial Intelligence's instructions. Only 1 thing: remember to save the menu entry you have added by clicking on "File" > "Save"

    Answers:

    1) 1 23" HD (OLD) Apple Cinema (from my old mac days) connected via DVI to an Intel P4 box.

    2) Haven't seen Heimo's guide but I've done everything in it previously which has gotten me to the point I'm at now.

    3) Good find! I didn't find this but am going to try it now!

    ...and the new non-apple (Go figure) modeline worked!!!! I was using the ones directly from apple.

    I've upgraded to the latest NVidia drivers (8178) and my log is MUCH better looking with the same config. Still some interesting things here but all in all, life is good.

    Wow. So I tried Method 2 at the beginning of this thread and got to step 6 (reboot) after I recompiled the kernel. When I try to load the new kernel, the system hangs on

    *Checking battery state... [ok]

    and just stays there.

    I have had the worst luck lol!

    Do I have to be using 2.6.12-10-386 kernel for the latest nvidia drivers?

    I keep getting this error on xserve:API mismatch: the Nvidia kernel module is version 1.0.7667 but the x module is version 1.0.8178

    how do i make sure the modules match?? this probably something really easy..thanks tselliot ..i was able to get everything working except my dualhead configuration which has led me to this error after modding the xorg.conf so many times i dont even know where i am...lol
