    New Dropbox for Linux Released

For any Dropbox fans out there, the Dropbox team just released the newest version of its client for Linux. The latest .deb is Jaunty compatible and includes command line management.

Been using it for a bit, working great. The new features make it perfect for Linux users.

I just wrote a blog post a cool little trick I thought about doing with Dropbox: http://www.excid3.com/2009/04/16/wal...-with-dropbox/

Thanks for the link. I do prefer Dropbox still, because of better and more intuitive desktop integration and real-time sync, but having an additional backup solution can't hurt

I don't know. It doesn't really look that useful unless your work computer actually allows you to install software on it. I know I can't. Not to mention, every single thing you do requires you re-download the file. When transferring large files, you could very quickly run out of your download allowance (which we have in Australia, not sure about the rest of the world). I'm not really sure how this is more useful then a USB stick, especially with only 2GiBs of storage. An 8GiB USB can be bought for as little as $40AUD here.

you don't need to download/upload the whole file, just modifications I think...

That is true. When you edit a file, I believe that they only upload the diff parts.

If anyone wants to sign up for dropbox, use my referral link and we both get 250mb more space.

HA! Sorry. I was so excited that it was working with Jaunty on my new netbook that I forgot that the referral program existed.
