I do not see any reason it would not work in lucid, the basics of file systems / crypts / LVM have not changed.

Depends on what step you are on and how large the partition is.

But yes. if it started, let it run. You are much much more apt to have problems if you interrupt it now.

What is the current size of your LVM ? What size do you want it to en up as ?

Subtract those two numbers.

Current = 10 Gb
Desired = 6 Gb

Reduce the size by 4 Gb.
