    Problem with Nvidia driver 169.12

I installed the newest Nvidia driver in with some other updates today. Since then, I can't get direct rendering to work. I've run nvidia-xconfig and sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia with no luck. Compiz/XGL is working fine though. Has anyone else gotten this?

Works fine here with a GeForce 7600 GT.

Re: Problem with Nvidia driver 169.12

Everything seems to be fine here also, but no 3D rendering. I reinstalled the driver with Yast. glxgears gives me the usual 3000 FPS. Now my mouse scroll wheel has stopped working after rebooting. I tried to run BilliardGL from the terminal and got an error:

    Code:

This has got me stumped. I think I'll try installing it manually from Nvidia later and see if that works.

Re: Problem with Nvidia driver 169.12

Someone at the suse forums helped me figure it out. The new driver installation set the window manager to use XGL as default. I changed it to use xorg and all is well. I'm still not sure why my mouse config changed. I couldn't find it in sax, so I loaded the live cd and copied it's xorg mouse config. Everything is cool now.
