I have followed the instructions on http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/09...ibbon-install/ in order to create a bootable USB drive with Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon which works very nicely...

Is there a way to use virtualization software like qemu to also create a way to run the linux distro on the pen drive in a windows machine without rebooting.

I do not necessarily want to have the OS installed on the "ubuntu710" partition and also be forced to have a nearly identical .iso image of the os created for qemu.

I would like to be able to boot off the drive when necessary, but also use the existing persistent image to run linux from within windows.

Any ideas?
