Age 35 started trying out various Ubuntu LIVE distro's since 2010 off and on then just yesterday I decided to take the plunge and turn my old Dell tower from 2007 into a Lubuntu machine as my Windows XP install was acting up and left my fiance's identical tower running Windows XP if I desperately need access to Windows!

I'm 65 and yes I've been there and done that. I use Ubuntu for what I consider security reasons and to Expand my mind. Let your freak flag fly.

I'm 29 and use Ubuntu for running my NAS. I found its easy to use and FREE! Forget paying for windows services that are way to expensive and insecure. I haven't really been in the Ubuntu game for long. I used it as a kid, but never for anything other than installing packages and messing around with terminal. I tried a couple different forms of Ubuntu prior to settling on Ubuntu 12.10. It just felt a little cleaner. I also didn't want to have a terminal only application should my wife ever have to navigate it. Currently I run minidlna for streaming media to my TV and a FTP server for access via our iPhones. It seems to work really well. I also run mdadm raid setup for 2x1tb drives for family photos and videos and 2x320gb drives for iTunes media. We share our iTunes database through a shared thumb drive in our wireless modem. That works great for having a single iTunes library across multiple computers.

18, and I use it for everything, and occasionally on a thumb drive to rescue data from corrupted Windows installs.

43, I use it for everything. I recently stopped booting into Windows on my work laptop and now strictly use Ubuntu 13.04. Anytime I need to work on something that is only available for M$ I use a VMWare virtual machine. My laptop has never been so stable or fast. I get a lot more work done. I am a Controls Engineer automating manufacturing processes and developing software for the Windows platform in C#. Oh the irony. My colleagues always give me a hard time, but I know they're just jealous. Especially when I showed them my $35 Raspberry Pi.

I'll be 60 in a couple of months and I've been using Linux in various forms for many years. I've just bought my first Linux laptop. All my other machines have been hand-me-down machines that gave a long life running windows. As a result, I've never had a fast linux machine until now. I've installed eclipse and I will be using this machine mostly for learning new technologies (like Scala, Play, Akka), in addition to the standard email, etc. So far I like the performance. I tend to upgrade to new version of applications as soon as they become available, as well as upgrading my OS early. As a result I often encounter bugs before the rest of y'all. Right now I'm on 13.04.
