Vmware Server clients limited to 8 gig

I have run into a problem with vmware server in creating clients. Everytime I create a client machine and specify like 20 gig for disk space the machine specs say it has 20 gig of disk space. However the xp client only shows an 8 gig partition. Disk manager shows the difference a free space. There doesn't seem to be a way to expand it. As a work around I created another virtual disk and said 20 gig. I then had to use drive manager in xp to create the partion and that gave me the 20 gig.

When I install xp what I have to do is install windows 2000 then upgrade to xp. Could that be causing the problem?
    Any thoughts anyone?

    Thanks for your assistance

Re: Vmware Server clients limited to 8 gig

I just discovered something really interesting.

It appears that Paragon Disk Manager 2008 works on virtual drives.
I just expanded that drive from 8 gig to the 10 gig and it worked like a champ.

I am going to experiment on creating a new virtual disk say 30 gig and use paragon to copy the 10 gig partition to the 30 gig and expand.

If anyone is interested in the results let me know

    Thanks
    Karl
