Gnome vs KDE Organizations

There has been many threads about whether KDE/Qt or Gnome/gtk is a better desktop environment/toolkit, but no one talks ,much about the organizations behind the desktop environments.

I curious what people think?

What are the strengths and weaknesses of each organization and how do they differ structurally and philosophically? Which has a better, stronger organization behind it? Which organization has the better potential and the most resources for accomplishing their goal and maintaining their project in the future?
