How does Wine compair to Windows?

I'm currently running Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10 dual booted. I want to get rid of Windows 7 and install Ubuntu as my main operating system, but I need to have Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, iTunes for when I need to update my iPhone, and jailbreaking software for my iPhone.

Does Wine stand up to this or should I just keep my dual boot setup?

Keep your dual boot, iTunes and updating your iPhone are going to be a problem with Wine. AFAIK, the rest of that does work well in Wine though.

Even if WINE does handle what you want now, I would keep the Windows install. You never know what you may want to do in the future, and you have paid for the OS so there is no sense in throwing it away.

I was thinking more along the lines of freeing up space and faster boot time as the result of switching to Wine but updating my iPhone and such would be a big problem with it if it doesn't work.

Windows 7 Ultimate takes up like 20gb for the operating system alone, hence wanting a single boot

I'll try to install Windows XP instead, thanks for the help
