Basically I was fooling around in inkscape and made this. Now my imagination is running away with it and I'm thinking of making a few pals, maybe starting with a pen or pencil.
Any good ideas for a name?
I was thinking Ned.

I will have to make note of this!

"Just Dropping a Note"
sloggerkhan, this is the best one I've seen yet. And the shadow adds a nice sense of depth. Sometime, you're going to have to teach me how to use Inkscape. There's this cat I would like to improve. Hee hee.
Another possible name is "Mad Notes", or maybe "WHEE!!!"
Ned B. Flat
Nice name. And for all you proper musicians out there, Ned can face EITHER direction. Amazing, no?

Love the icon.
SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. Vector graphics (as opposed to raster, or bitmaps) have always scaled better because of their mathematical composition.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphics) states that "Vector graphics (also called geometric modeling or object-oriented graphics) is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and polygons, which are all based upon mathematical equations to represent images in computer graphics. It is used in contrast to the term raster graphics, which is the representation of images as a collection of pixels, and used as the sole graphic type for actual photographic images.". (taken directly from the vector graphics wiki)
Mathematics are true at any size, so the images created with vector art retain their shape/structure *much* better at any given size than raster images, which get pixellated and blown out of proportion.
