i've UBUNTU 5.04 OS on my PC.

i typed on the terminal : sudo esd
result: ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:868snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

the directory /dev/dsp is not present on my system.

the ximp player is working . its showing the movie , but without any sounds.

help!
