Theres a plethora of Buddhist Scriptures. I'm Zen. We should have as many as possible. I was thinking of a mindfulness bell ringing at long in.

    Hey all,

I made a site for developers Please email me if you're interested in developing: raymonjc@sbu.edu Email me your info and we'll get to work

Site development is open to anyone. Just email me a request for your password.

    http://www.buddhabuntu.8m.net

the logo is a work in progress updates welcome, don't delete prior ones tho. Get at me asap! We also need to decide what sect(s) we are going to represent in this distribution and what packages to attach. I want to have a whole collection of buddhist scriptures, but I don't know the first thing when it comes to developing distrubutions so please help me. I have an extensive background in html development, visual basic, and c, been programming PCs since I was seven. But I'm not God. Lol Also working name is up for grabs. I chose buddhabuntu since bubuntu is a black distro and buduntu sounds goofy.

Also if anyone is willing to put up the money for a real name we can take off the banner ads and the "8m" part.

Plz don't spam me or misuse this project.

I'm not a Buddhist, but I am into meditation (in a martial arts context.) I think this could be a good default theme for the distro (see screenshot.)

Made using Fluxbox without the panel enabled.

    Re: Ubuntu Buddhist Editon

I will point out again that a LiveCD based on Slax6 is already out there with several good tools for those doing Buddhist scholarly studies.

These tools could be included in any "Buddhist" distro.

Frankly, I think it will be difficult to make a distro that will be useful, or appeal to all Buddhists. Buddhism has many different "flavors" (you could call them distros, I suppose). For example, a Japanese Zen based distro will probably not appeal to a Tibetan Buddhist, or a Chinese Buddhist, or vice versa.
