I'm not a Buddhist, but I like their philosophy. +1 for the idea.
On a related note, may be the folks behind the Buddhist edition can think of an appropriate /etc/issue or motd, which features an ascii art! I came across a fantastic one made by skualito at archlinux forums, which i use on my machine. It will fit perfectly with this distribution. Since it has been done already, may be you folks can ask him/her about using his creation on your distro. Here is a mangled version of mine on my desk!

I'll not argue the merits of whether or not a Buddhist version is a good or bad idea, instead I'll just say this:
Focus on zen and simplicity. As many programs as you can remove without decreasing the capabilities of the machine, awesome. Maybe even create a metapackage of open-source white noise to meditate by?
Just an idea.

Just checking, sorry if this sounds negative, do you have Ubuntu / Canonicals permission to use the *buntu suffix? Im sure theres been a number of problem cases in the past where name changes have been forced or something. Wasnt OpenGEU called Ebuntu or something and they made him change his name?
