Some buddhists might wish to clarify what do they require in a buddhist centric OS. If there's no demand why start it in the first place.
I know several buddhists and none of them expressed an interest when questioned. There's no bible/quran in buddhism and most buddhists I know are not as religious as the christians and muslims I know. They pray at temples, meditate at home and these activities do not require the computer afaik.
Really I think the jokes have to stop. Its awfully tasteless
Right now its just an idea that I came up with only because I didin't know if I could even find people to help me. I did look on sourceforge and there are a few apps related to Buddhism including a pali canon reader. Also I think I am going to try to make it lightweight and use a window manager like fluxbox, openbox, or enlightenment (no pun intended).
Within the next couple weeks I am going to try to hammer out more of details and outline what might be included etc.... Mainly what I would need help with would be artwork since I am not very artistic but I can handle most of the technical stuff myself. Also i still need to contact Canonical too.
Actually buddhism isn't a religion. If you really forced the issue you could call it a non-theistic religion, but better to call it a set of teachings leading to a particular state of mind.

I don't see what religion has to do with operating systems. If you want to release a dalai llama theme pack, fine.
If you want to argue about religion do it in the Backyard and not here.
