I did mv scph1001.bin $EPSXE/bios and the file did move, but to where I dunno cause I can't find the file in a search, it's no longer in the folder it was in, and it's not in /usr/local/games/epsxe/bios either.

You are going to have a file in your root directory called "bios"
To fix it, just do this.
    Code:
    mv /bios /usr/local/games/epsxe/bios/scph1001.bin
    Edit:
Figure I should explain what happened to ya
$EPSXE was a var set in the How-To that would resolved to '/usr/local/games/epsxe/bios'. Once you closed the shell you were working in, it wouldn't have been set anymore. So '$EPSXE/bios' = '/bios'. Since there is no directory in '/' named bios, it would rename your file to bios, and put it in the directory '/'.

Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator (Version 2)

Oh boy, now I'm having more problems. I can't seem to get anything to run correctly. I've configured everything, but, when I try to run a game (from a burned disk) nothing works.. just a big black screen. When I run the BIOS, it's almost the same as well. I get almost a full black screen and then in the upper left corner there's a small square of an area where I can see a bit of the BIOS screen. For the hell of it, I fiddled with the joystick to see if it was responsive and it interacts with the BIOS menu fine, but I just can't see 90% of it

What plugins are you using, and what are they set to.

Yanno Felson, I'm glad that one of us here is paying attention

I totally forgot that I could switch the video plugin! I

I changed the video plugin from P.E.Op.S. SoftX Driver 1.17 to Pete's MesaGL Driver 1.76 and ran the bios and so far so good! I will test out gameplay a little later *crosses fingers*.

Looks like you forgot to enable stretching the image to the screen. Which resolution did you use?

EDIT: Did you visit www.emuforums.com ? They host the main ePSXe support forum and they might know more than we do here.

oh no, I tried that. I ran it at 640x480 with the P.E.Op.S. SoftX Driver 1.17 in full screen and I got a black screen and when I pushed escape, my resolution was all messed up and I was forced to reset :-\

Alright, I loaded up Alundra (disk burned from an image) and here's what happened:

    • P.E.Op.S. SoftX Driver 1.17 goes to a black screen
    • Pete's MesaGL driver 1.76 goes to a black screen
    • Pete's XGL2 Driver 2.8 will just crash
