    Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator (Version 2)

    I'm getting black screens loading FFVII (Only game I've tried)

    Terminal stops at "Open SPU" and it seems like nothing is happening after that. I've tried every configuration of every plugin it feels like.

    Any ideas?

    Followed the guide exactly, everything is reporting working and seems installed correctly

    I got BIOS

    I'm on Gutsy 32bit using a nVidia 7300GS

    I haven't tried to play that in quite some time. After I get how from work, I will give it a quick try and see if it has issues for me as well.
    It might be worth it to try PcSX or PSX and see if you have the same kind of problems.

    You should definitely add a link to SPU Eternal! There's simply no audio plugin that matches its quality, especially after hearing the horrible work PEOpS SPU does with the PSX noise generator Ever listened to Bahamut's Megaflare sounding like a starting engine in FFIX? Games like Vagrant Story or Xenogears sound horrible, too.

    Anyway, SPU Eternal is superior to PEOpS in any aspect and should therefore be included in your guide. I can also provide you with some configuration advice, if you want.

    The link you might wanna use is:

    Oh, I might add that SPU Eternal needs the following command to be entered before trying to install it:

    Code:
    sudo aptitude install libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2
    If it's missing, ePSXe will exit everytime it tries to access the plugins complaining that "/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3" is missing.

    @JacksonDane
    Sorry I didn't get back to you on the weekend. I couldn't find my CD for that game. I must have lent it out or something (Probably never see it again ) Anyway, have you had any luck yet?

    @F-3582
    Thanks. I will add that one to the How-To once I have a bit of time. (Or when the boss isn't looking )

    Sounds like a bad image/CD to me. "Open spu[0]" is the last thing ePSXe displays before starting a game. Try the "Run BIOS" command and see if ePSXe is at least able to start the BIOS up.

    Hi there,
    I'm having trouble getting any joypad ePSXe joypad plugins to work. I've followed the guide and everything works nicely except that I dont' get omnijoy or padjoy in the external gamepad config dialog box. I've checked that they're in the plugins folder. Can anoyone help?

    thanks!

    PS: I know my joypad works because I've used it with zsnes and pcsx (which I would use but I just can't seem to get my games running at the right speed, whereas ePSXe does it right straight off...)

    Doesn't it work with the standard ePSXe joypad configuration?

    Okay, I think the guide doesn't mention that you have to build at least OmniJoy. Are the *.so files directly inside the plugin folder? I don't think that ePSXe recognizes sub-folders in the plugin folder.
