    Unanswered Posts Day

Since we have not been able to get a meeting going in an timely way, we need some way to get the community going on an "unanswered posting spree." What better way than to do that than through a UA Day, especially right after Gutsy is released?

By a UA day, I mean something everyone on Ubuntu Forums can participate in. Sort of like a Hug Day for bugs, but for unanswered topics here.

What day do you all think we should have one? Should it be monthly? Every 2 months? Once per release? You decide.

Good idea! I suggest, every 27th day of every month, this gives a week to get the word out for the first spree.

    +1

    This is a good idea!

There is nothing worse than doing a Google or Forum search and finding un-answered posts to a issue you may be having = annoying waste of time !

At the risk of being labelled a party pooper, could these posts be unanswered because...

    a) No-one understands the question, or
    b) No-one knows the answer, or
    c) The question is plain daft!

    well zill,
either ask to restate question and/or answer it anyway.

For questions like 2 (no knows the answer), I try to look for solutions, or potential solutions, with google, and redirect the poster to a more informed site.

That's usually the way to do it. Leaving the person with a reply is better than nothing at all, even if you cannot provide a direct answer.

I think this is a great idea, and should help get a lot of unanswered questions taken care of. I'd be down for a session once a month
