I received a notification about a post of mine that ended up in the jail: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=551532 . Everything started as part of this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...postcount=8777 . The question are: Am I at fault? What did I do wrong to have a post in jail? Is this going to affect my presence in these forums? BTW, some days ago I reported this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=526105 and it didn't end up in the jail, why?

I think you're fine. From time to time staff take posts and threads relating to whether or not Ubuntu is "ready for the desktop" and merge them into one really long thread. At the same time, sometimes some posts are removed that aren't directly related to that topic, especially if they seem to be going off on a kind of grumpy tangent. Your post was basically okay, but it was part of one of those tangents (although the post wasn't really necessary). Don't worry, your standing in the forums is unchanged.
what's a troll? | my blog | my writing | Ubuntu Unleashed Don't ask support questions in PMs--post a thread so everyone can benefit!

The staff reviewed the thread, saw that it was old, so we just closed it and figured it would get buried anyway without jailing it. The decision could have gone either way and been fine...the original post in that thread was over the line, but by the time staff found out about it there was already a good discussion going on that wouldn't have made sense without the context.

Thank you for answering my doubts.

I actually reported this post when the OP disrespected me: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...1&postcount=26 BTW, thanks for looking at this matter.
Okay. I see the offense. If anything like that comes up again, please report it. I just looked through the "reported posts" log for the last two weeks and I can't find your report, so for some reason it didn't go through. I'll take care of this now.
