Never mind, like I said I'm an idiot. User error, accidentally moved a wrong file. *doh*

Hm, I was actually typing out some suggestions for your problem, but you replied saying that it's all fine now for you, before I had a chance to post, so I quickly edited.

Is ePSXe working for you now?
(do games work on it for you I mean )

Oh, and I'm all fine and dandy thank you.
    How are you?

SOOOOO Awesome. I can finally move back to linux as my primary since i started another run through FFVII and PCSX would crash anytime i went through a battle I can't believe all i had to do was decompress the file. Thanks so much I forgot how much i can't stand vista, but i guess it makes me appreciate linux more.

Is there some sort of proxy you are behind? I can access that site perfectly fine.

I'm on gutsy 7.10 and I followed the guide step by step, including the upx step, but epsxe still doesn't open. When I double click it, the .epsxerc file is just created...

I have all the libs required and I've already seen that pSX runs images on my box, although not well, hence why i'm here

Run ePSXe from terminal and watch what it writes. It might help you tracking down the problem.

You probably don't have the older version (1.2) of libgtk install:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2
And try to run epsxe then

    PS:
Don't "double-click" the executable. You should run it from the command line.
My installer puts the epsxe executable in ~/epsxe,
But it also makes an "epsxe" alias for running the executable.

    At your command line, either
    Code:
    ~/epsxe/epsxe
    or
    Code:
    epsxe
    and it should run.

that's a problem with your network. Are you sure you have internet access? Since your posting now, you probably do, but it was down for a little bit of time when you ran the installer. Try running it again, and tell me if it works.

Remember to install libgtk1.2 once you've installed epsxe with my installer
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2
and if you're running Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy (or more specifically, the 2.6.22-14 linux kernel), then decompressed the epsxe executable (it's compressed with upx, linux 2.6.22-14 has problems with that)
    Code:
    cd ~/epsxe/epsxe
    upx -d epsxe
    PS:
The epsxe executable is installed before the plugins. With shell scripts, if a command fails it goes onto the next command, unless you specify otherwise. Basically, you can run epsxe still but the plugins weren't downloaded because at the time when they were to be downloaded, your network went down; delete the epsxe folder in your /home/user directory then start over (note, make SURE you do "cd ~/epsxe" then "upx -d epsxe" because you will be back with the upx-compressed epsxe executable.

Thanks but it still doesn work...

I can launch it by typing epsxe in the terminal but when i add epsxe or browse the file in the launcher it gives me an error...
