    Wireless weirdness

So apparently Ubuntu's wireless app doesn't like 'Shared Key' setup. I had recently started encryption on my wireless router using a WEP 64bit hex key on the Shared Key setting. I was not able to connect to it from Ubuntu! After toying around with it I finally found out that switching over to Open System allowed the connection. Why is that?

I'm connected and its still encrypted, so I'm happy, but am still curious if that is a general problem or is it just my setup.

    Re: Wireless weirdness

I've not had much luck with WEP. Most of my wireless network uses WPA2.
